Sustainable Salmon from a fishing family in British Columbia

Pacific Provider is a family owned 43’ troller that is licensed to fish salmon off the north coast of British Columbia.

The salmon are caught by dragging lines with barbless hooks through the water. The salmon are landed, gutted and bled, and within 2-3 hours the catch is flash frozen at sea. When frozen, the fish are glazed with seawater which forms a protective layer.

From the frozen state, the fish are filleted and vacuum packed in a federally licenced North Vancouver processing plant, Masa’s Salmon Smokehouse Ltd. This family smokehouse also cold smokes our Pacific Provider salmon.

Morgan MacMath has crewed on the Pacific Provider for two seasons.  Rick, the skipper of the Pacific Provider, has given us this unique business opportunity to sell his quality salmon here in Ontario. We are a small scale mother and son distribution business in Toronto.
