Exciting news! Coho salmon is back, thanks to our trusted friend Gordie, skipper of the “Spring Fever.” Fresh off the boat and straight to your table, this catch is a testament to the dedication of our Pacific Coast fishermen.
Coho salmon is renowned for its rich, reddish-orange meat and excellent taste. While more affordable than Spring salmon and comparable to sockeye, it maintains a high quality. This medium fatty salmon boasts nearly twice the oil content of pink and chum salmon, though slightly less than sockeyes or Spring, providing a balanced richness.
Harvested off the coast of Haida Gwaii, British Columbia, using troll boats with specialized hooks and lines, our wild coho salmon is celebrated for its fine-textured, consistently red flesh and versatile flavor. It’s perfect for a family dinner, especially when grilled on a soaked cedar plank on the BBQ.
For the best experience, ensure the fillets are thawed to room temperature. Whether poached, BBQ ed, fried, or baked, each method highlights the fish’s succulence. As our coho is FAS (frozen at sea), it is also ideal for sushi and sashimi, letting you enjoy its rich flavor raw.
